2009
  • The "Former Iida Factory" has moved to the newly-built "New Iida Factory" in Iida-city.
  • Acquired all company stocks and make Laser Solutions Co., Ltd. its subsidiary.
  • The Inline Flipless Cutting System for G8 substrates (MPX Series)
    won the Award the best device manufacturer in the FPD industry
    <The 14th Advanced Display of the Year> (ADY2009).
2008
  • Established the <MDI Training Center> in Chino City, Nagano.
  • Obtained ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certification.
  • Shipped the 3,000th scribing machine.
  • Acquired all company stocks and make ASTEC Corporation its subsidiary.
2007
  • Established the <Laser Solution Lab> in Suita City, Osaka.
2005
  • Acquired the Schott AG laser cutting business,
    and established <MDI Schott Advanced Processing GmbH> in Germany.
  • Merged with Wako Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd., and turned the Wako Diamond business premises into the Iida Plant.
  • Reached the 70th anniversary of foundation.
  • Developed the Inline Flipless Cutting System for G8 substrates.
2004
  • Established the maintenance base <Tainan Technical Service Center>.
  • Total worldwide shipment of scribing machines reached 2,000 units.
  • Acquired CE-marking accreditation for the MPX Series.
2003
  • Established <MDI Korea>,
    a manufacturing and maintenance base in South Korea.
  • Obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification.
  • Obtained CE-marking accreditation for the MS Series.
  • Established <MDI Shanghai>, a maintenance base in China.
  • Released the Inline Flipless Cutting System for G6 substrates,
    and developed a similar system for G7 substrates.
2002
  • The Inline Flipless Cutting System for G5 substrates (MPL Series)
    won the Award the best device manufacturer in the FPD industry
    <The 7th Advanced Display of the Year> (ADY2002).
2000
  • Established the MDI Taiwan Branch, and the Korea Bucheon Service Center.
  • Released an inline laser cutting system for LCD and PDP substrates.

  • Established the Tateshina Plant in Chino City, Nagano.

  • Released the deep-penetration cutting wheel “Penett®”.
  • Developed the laser scriber.

  • Released an inline cutting, grinding and cleaning system for PDP substrates.

  • Developed a fully automated loading and cutting line for LCD base glass panels.

  • Released a cutting, grinding and cleaning line for LCD substrates.
1983
  • Released the Dia-Compact Wheel Tip.
  • Developed the Single-Head Automatic Precision Glass Scriber.
  • Developed the Automatic Glass Break Machine.
1982
  • Released a fully automated glass cutting machine, and a glass scriber for solar cells.
1977
  • Released the world's first glass scriber for LCD substrates.
1957
  • Renamed the company <Mitsuboshi Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd.>
  • Released a carbide wheel hand tool for cutting glass.
1935
  • Founded as <Mitsuboshi Diamond Tool Factory> in Miyakojima Ward, Osaka City.
  • Began manufacturing and selling diamond glass cutters under the Mitsuboshi Brand.
